we have a cure for that! join pca for the annual red barns spectacular at the gilmore auto museum. wmr will have a porsche corral with space just for you. that said, coming earlier is better because sometimes there are just so many cars our area gets overrun. this is a wonderful day each year, with lots to see and a wide variety of cars to see. the barns at the gilmore are also open, so plan to spend the day and enjoy yourselves. there are a few that hang on to the end and set up chairs at the exit just to see what we may have missed during the day. when: saturday, august 4, beginning at 9:00. admission is $14.00 per person; there is an additional fee if you want your vehicle judged. where: gilmore car museum, hickory corners alpenglühen with friends wolfgang “the hoff” hofmann, invites you to join your fellow porsche enthusiasts at the alpenrose restaurant located in wonderful downtown holland. if you’ve never been, the alpenrose’s ambiance and culinary delights do much to virtually transport you to the foothills of the alps. think, dinner in salzburg or garmisch. we might lack the majestic mountains as a backdrop for a true “alpenglühen”, but there’s a good chance we can stop by holland beach after dinner, for a spectacular peninsulas sunset. depending on turnout we’ll be able to either: eat à la carte (up to 18 guests), choose from our own grand buffet (18+ guests, $30 per head) or even have a special event-menu prepared. all that’s left to do is letting “the hoff” know, if you plan to attend. please rsvp early, so the appropriate dinner planning can occur. there’s no special porsche-only parking available, but the city of holland has some of the best public parking spaces/lots around. please rsvp by august 5 to wolfgang. when: saturday, august 25 at 6:00 pm where: 4 east 8th street, holland, mi 49423 iroc iii this event concludes the inter-regional race of champions, the longest running inter-regional event in pca history. all levels of experience welcome (novices included). you can even bring a friend who drives something other than a porsche. all makes are welcome. learn what you and your car can do in a controlled, safe, relatively low speed environment. it is good fun, improves your skills, and a great stepping stone to the club’s drivers’ education at one of the area road course race tracks. your porsche is built for this stuff, so you owe it to yourself to give it a try! iroc times from events i, ii, & iii will be accumulated and trophies awarded accordingly. 9 am registration, 9:30 am track walk, 10 am – noon timed runs, noon – 1 pm lunch on your own from, 1 pm – 3:30 pm timed runs. when: saturday, august 25 beginning at 9:00 am for registration where: tire rack, 7101 vorden parkway, south bend, in 46628 facebook western michigan region, porsche club of america 1 month 1 week ago someone is going to win this. is it you?
